Don't be sad if something doesn't work out the first time. Or at all. Or isn't perfect. Just do it with determination, with heart, and there will definitely be a happy ending.
When I first wanted to embroider roses using the cast on stitch technique, my needles kept slipping, the petals weren't even, then I discovered that the ruined petals were perfect little butterflies. Since then, I've been embroidering tiny, quick-to-make butterflies this way. I just call them happy butterflies because I'll never forget the happy feeling when I accidentally embroidered the first one(instead my rose).
I enjoyed every moment of making this picture, from drawing it to finishing it. It took me nearly 48 hours to complet.
Have you ever wondered how you could finish the back of the embroidery in the hoop nicely? Check out my video and I'll show you an idea. Other than thread, needle and scissors, you'll need a bit stronger material and you'll be done. Happy Embroidering!
I thought I'd spice up my French knots a bit. So I threaded 2 different colored threads into the needle at the same time: a light green and a dark green, and made one out of the two threads. I'm very happy with the end result! I can't wait to finish my latest hand embroidery picture.
In the video I will show you how to embroider a fluffy figure. If you like it, my exciting membership program will be launched soon, follow or support me at ko-fi.com/katadesign . Thank you very much!

Have you seen how beautiful the back of this embroidery is?
One thing I really love about traditional techniques is that the back looks almost as nice as the front. This is really important, especially when you're working on things like shirts, tablecloths, or anything where the back might be visible.
If you’d like to learn how to make your embroidery look this refined and elegant, I’ve made a tutorial video, you van find on my ko-fi page.
